What Do We Know About Gen Z?

Members of Gen Z are the people born from 1995 to 2010; they are true digital natives. They have been exposed to the internet and social networks since a young age. The question is, how different is Gen Z from the other generations and what do we know about them?

  1. Flexibility

This generation demands flexibility in work environments. Surveys have shown that Gen Z largely prefers a technology-enabled workplace with flexible working hours and culture.

  1. Equity

Generation Z cares about social causes and values like equality and equity. It is more likely for this generation to stand up against unfair compensation at work and acts of inequalities.

  1. Work-life Balance

Most of the Generation Z workers believe that it is essential to have a work-life balance. With the advent of technology, they understand that you don’t need to be chained to a desk in order to accomplish tasks, collaborate and complete projects.

  1. Level of Education

Generation Z is also more likely to have college-educated parents so you can expect this population to be well educated. They are less likely to drop out of high school and more likely to be enrolled in college.

These are certainly broad generalizations, but they can help us gain a better understanding into this generation that seems so different from the rest.
